This Season we’re making the best use of Island talent with our resident professional actors and we’re spreading the joy by staging our productions in various venues around the Island.

It’s Vashon Isle!  The Bombastic 1926 Radio Spectacle.

Friday, October 13, 7:30pm | Saturday October 14, 7:30pm | Sunday, October 15 at 2 and 7:30pm at Vashon Center for the Arts.

Jeff Hoyt will embody Vashon’s 1926 newspaper editor P. Monroe Smock in a re-creation of his iconic radio address aimed at luring new residents to Vashon. Accompanied by historic images rendered by Smock’s rosy oratory, Hoyt will illuminate the era with help from island historians. Islanders Kat Eggleston, Steffon Moody, Chris Ballew, the Filson Sisters and more will perform music from the original program and more recent odes to Vashon.

Edgar Allan Poe, The Poet’s Journey

Saturday, October 28, 4 and 7:30pm at Snapdragon’s Black Cat Cabaret
Seasoned professional actor Bradford Farwell tells the true story of Poe’s efforts to launch a literary magazine in 1849. Spurred by the promises of a St. Louis publishing house, Poe traveled the country in search of 1000 subscribers to The Stylus.

A Christmas Carol

Saturday, December 16, 4 and 7:30pm at Vashon Center for the Arts

Vashon Rep brings renowned stage actor Allen Fitzpatrick to the Island for his unique solo adaptation of the Dickens classic. His is a captivating gather-round-the-fire rendition of the story told the way Charles Dickens did in the 1800’s.

Still In Love with You: The Hank and Audrey Williams Story

This tribute to Audrey and Hank Williams Sr. stars Jennifer Potter and Jon Whalen in the story of Hank Williams and the on-again-off-again relationship with his first wife. With a script by Randy Noojin, Potter, Whalen, and Tami Brockway Joyce will breathe life and song into the couple’s passionate and tragic love story.

VRT revives this sold-out 2019 production, adding new material from the late author’s rich treasury. The original cast of Jeanne Dougherty, David Mielke, Cate O’Kane and Paul Shapiro, with musical interludes by Kat Eggleston, bring life and joy to the comic and poignant works of one of Vashon’s favorite writers.

Tickets go on sale September 5, and all are General Admission priced from $18-$25.
