Charlotte Tiencken

CHARLOTTE TIENCKEN is an Arts Administrator, Director, Producer and Educator who has been working in the performing arts world for over 30 years. She is president of Scarlet Productions, a consulting agency in non-profit management. Most recently, she was Interim Managing Director for Freehold Theatre in Seattle. She was Visiting Assistant Professor in Arts Management at the College of Charleston in SC from 2014-2016. From 2007-2014 she was Managing Director at Book-It Repertory Theatre in Seattle.

Prior to that, she was General Manager at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts and has worked at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts in Tacoma, WA, Tacoma Little Theatre, The Evergreen State College, Spirit Square Center for the Arts in Charlotte, NC, and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Most recent directing credits include The Cyclone Line by Kat Eggleston at Vashon Center for the Arts, A Wrinkle in Time at Seattle Pacific University, Something Unspoken by Tennessee Williams at Civic Rep Theatre on Vashon Island, WA, 33 Variations by Moises Kaufman at Drama Dock on Vashon, and Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare at the People’s Art Theatre of the Fujian Province in Fuzhou, China.

She received her MFA from The University of Texas at Austin. She lives on Vashon Island, WA, with her husband, Bill, two dogs and two cats.
